Review leads fairly and consistently

Use property-related fit signals before shortlist, keep private notes factual, and preserve RentMatcher’s blind-review boundary.

What blind review means

Identity stays hidden before shortlist

The lead queue intentionally shows renter-shared fit signals—not a renter’s name, photo, or biography. Base decisions only on lawful, property-related criteria such as budget fit, move-in alignment, stated pet needs, verification status, and location proximity.

Review a lead

  1. Open Leads.Use the queue and listing filters to focus on the work you need to review.
  2. Tap a lead card. The detail screen shows the compatibility score, listing context, budget, move-in timing, pets, search radius, submission time, and verification state.
  3. Read the score breakdown.Budget fit, pet compatibility, move-in alignment, verification, and proximity contribute to the displayed fit score. Treat the score as context, not an automatic decision.
  4. Add a Private Landlord Note if useful.Keep the note factual, property-specific, and free of protected-class assumptions. Notes are visible only in landlord lead views.
  5. Choose Shortlist or Pass.Shortlist creates the next-stage match and enables follow-up. Pass moves the lead to your private Passed Leads archive without notifying the renter.
Expected result

The lead leaves the active queue and appears in the appropriate shortlist/match flow or Passed Leads archive.

Restore or reconsider a passed lead

  1. Open Passed Leads from the Leads screen. The archive remains blind and uses the same safe lead projection.
  2. Tap Restore / Un-pass.The passed decision is removed and the lead returns to the active inbox.
  3. Or open the lead and Shortlist it.Shortlisting removes it from the archive and moves it into the matched workflow.

Premium lead tools

Premium can add lead filters, follow-up coaching, and connected-source reports. These tools help prioritize workflow; they do not change the blind-review rule or authorize consideration of protected characteristics.

Do not use notes as a hidden screening channel

Never record race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, disability, or assumptions about any protected characteristic. Follow applicable federal, state, and local housing law.

Troubleshooting

No leads appear

Confirm that you have an active listing and that renter interest has been received. Pull down to refresh and check the listing filter.

A lead disappeared after a decision

Shortlisted leads move to the match workflow; passed leads move to Passed Leads. Check those destinations before repeating the action.

A private note did not save

Retry with a connection. Notes are limited to 500 characters. If the saved value remains unchanged, include any displayed error code in a support request.

I expected to see the renter’s identity

Identity is intentionally unavailable in pre-shortlist review. Do not try to infer it from fit details.
