Getting started as a landlord
Enter the landlord experience, learn where work lives, and recognize which controls require Premium access.
Before you begin
A RentMatcher account using the Landlord role. If you switch an existing account between Renter and Landlord, the entire interface changes and Premium does not transfer between modes.
Choose or switch to landlord mode
- Open RentMatcher and finish account setup.Choose Landlord when the role picker appears during onboarding.
- To change an existing role, open Profile.Tap Settings, then Account, and use the Mode control.
- Review the mode-change message.Confirm only when you are ready for the whole interface to switch. Any role-specific Premium access resets to free.
The bottom tab bar shows Dashboard, Listings, Leads, Boosts, and Profile.
Know the five landlord tabs
Dashboard
Your daily overview: portfolio readiness, next-best action, alerts, tours, and listing status.
Listings
Your rental portfolio, creation flow, readiness score, views, renter interest, and editing tools.
Leads
A blind, Fair Housing-aware queue of renter fit signals awaiting shortlist or pass decisions.
Boosts
Landlord-paid reach, campaign planning, listing health, and Premium reporting.
Profile
Your account, settings, saved replies, team, integrations, verification, support, and deletion controls.
Understand Starter and Premium
Starter landlords can create and manage a limited active portfolio and preview selected planning tools. Premium unlocks unlimited listing growth, paid reach workflows, reports, team and organization controls, provider requests, and advanced landlord insights. Renters remain free to browse, match, message, tour, and share interest.
Read the feature label and price shown in the live purchase sheet. Store availability and billing options can vary by account and App Store configuration.
If something looks different
The landlord tabs do not appear
Open Profile → Settings → Account and confirm the selected mode is Landlord. If the switch just completed, close and reopen the app.
A control opens an upgrade screen
The task is Premium-gated. The gate describes what unlocks; dismiss it to continue using Starter features.
Changes have not synced
Keep the app open with a connection. If “Some changes haven’t synced” appears, the app will retry background changes; the banner can be dismissed without deleting the pending work.
